Fawns Visit Walnut Creek Yard: Photos Of The Day

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Carla Winter-Evans shared a pair of photos of darling twin fawns this week.

She tells Patch, "I looked out of my kitchen window to this enchanting vision of fawn … but, we are really starting to have an urban deer over-population problem in Walnut Creek, especially with so much habitat for development being destroyed, and no consideration to the critters… there is no food or water in them there hills."

Carla's visitors coincide with a warning passed along this week by Lindsay Wildlife Experience about a hemorrhagic disease that's been confirmed in deer, mostly fawns, in three California counties including here in the Bay Area.

Wildlife officials remind us that providing food or water for deer prompts them to congregate, which spreads disease.
