How WCEF Is Opening Doors for Walnut Creek Students
From biomedical science to hands-on classroom labs, Walnut Creek Education Foundation funding is helping local students explore new interest
A friend’s suggestion to join Las Lomas High School’s Biomedical Science Pathway changed the way 17-year-old Kamila Sanchez thought about her future.
The program helped her discover an interest in healthcare and a potential career in science or medicine — and it’s one of many educational opportunities supported by the Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF).
Since 1983, WCEF has helped fund programs across Walnut Creek public schools, from elementary libraries, art, music and science labs to middle and high school electives and career pathways.
