Overaa Construction to Build State-of-the-Art Cancer Support Center
Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area Announces Partnership for New East Bay Support Center

Walnut Creek, CA) – Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area (CSC), a Bay Area-based nonprofit devoted to supporting individuals, families, and communities affected by cancer through no cost comprehensive supportive care and services, announced that Overaa Construction will oversee the building of an innovative state of the art cancer support center in the East Bay that will meet the needs of the growing number of people diagnosed with cancer.

Construction of the new facility will create reimagined spaces that incorporate the serene natural landscape and walking trails surrounding the facility to better meet the mental, physical, and emotional needs of parents and their families. As such, the new center will feature community and wellness rooms, a children and teen’s activity center, spacious classrooms with the most up to date broadcast capabilities, a fully equipped demonstration kitchen, counseling rooms, a vibrant arts room, a movement studio, specialized rooms for acupuncture and massage, a children’s playground, community garden, outdoor program space and walking trails.
“CSC is honored to partner with Overaa Construction in the creation of this cancer center that will transform supportive care for patients and families and serve as a model for the Bay Area and the country.,” said Rob Tufel, MSW, MPH, Chief Executive Officer, CSC. “Overaa’s leadership and expertise will bring our vision to life for a support center where programs can be accessed in a natural healing environment. This new center expands holistic care for patients and families that can have a real impact on their outcomes and quality of life.”

CSC expects to complete construction by the end of 2025. Generous community support has allowed CSC to reach 80% of its fundraising goal and they are actively securing donations for a $5 million match to reach their final capital campaign goal.
