Small Walnut Creek Protest Tuesday Remains Peaceful

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A small protest involving about 40 people in downtown Walnut Creek Tuesday evening remained peaceful. Police issued an advisory for drivers to watch out for them in the area of Olympic and North Main Street.
The protesters dispersed before the curfew went into effect at 8 p.m., with police reporting on Twitter, "The group exercised their right to protest in a respectful and peaceful manner."
The Walnut Creek Police Department said on Monday that it remains committed to protecting the First Amendment rights of the community and providing for the safety of all residents.Both Sunday and Monday were marked by chaos in Walnut Creek as looters targeted the downtown, and marchers took their protest onto I-680.
