Walnut Creek Woman Arrested In SF Crash That Killed 2-Year-Old
Merih Fssha Solomon, 47, of Walnut Creek, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter after an SF crash killed a toddler.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Walnut Creek woman was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter after police said she striking an adult and a two-year-old with her car, which killed the child.
On Feb. 27 at around 8:55 p.m., San Francisco police officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking two pedestrians crossing the street, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Both victims were taken to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders and medical staff, the child was pronounced dead. The adult was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators determined probable cause to arrest the driver, 47-year-old Merih Fssha Solomon of Walnut Creek, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, running a red light, and failure to yield to pedestrians.
