Woodpeckers Storing Acorns: Photos Of The Day

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Judy Myers and Conrad Peloquin came across an amazing sight last month. Judy tells Patch, "These resourceful woodpeckers were collecting acorns and pounding them into trees…apparently for safekeeping later. It was fascinating to watch them…such a wondrous spectacle of nature in action."
