23 DUI Arrests Made In Watsonville Over The Holidays

Those drivers are facing fines as high as $13,500, the Watsonville Police Department said of its Dec. 13 to Dec. 31 campaign.

WATSONVILLE, CA β€” Watsonville Police Department officers nabbed 23 drivers suspected of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated over the holiday season. The drivers are facing fines up to $13,500, police say.

The department had extra eyes on the streets looking for drunk or drugged drivers from Dec. 13 to Dec. 31, thanks to a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The enforcement period included a checkpoint for intoxicated drivers and drivers without licenses. The checkpoint was held Saturday, Dec. 21 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
