Alleged Gang Members Arrested During Watsonville Warrant Searches

During two separate warrant searches, the alleged gang members were found with illegal firearms.

WATSONVILLE, CA β€” Two alleged gang members were arrested last week on possession of illegal firearms, the Watsonville Police Department reported.

On Thursday morning, officers with the department's Special Investigations Unit served a warrant at the home of a 16-year-old suspected gang member in the 100 block of Marin Street.

During the search, officers seized a high-powered rifle, according to the WPD. The suspect was arrested and booked into juvenile hall for illegal possession of a firearm. His identity was not released due to age.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the SIU received information about a felon in possession of a stolen shotgun. The investigation led officers to the 100 block of Second Street where Rodolfo Ibarra, 30, "a known gang member," was arrested following a probation search, according to the WPD.

Ibarra was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail for being a felon in possession of a stolen firearm, according to the WPD.
