Bites Nearby: Cilantros

Cilantros celebrates Michoacán-style Mexican cuisine.

A favorite stop for Michoacán-style Mexican food, Cilantros has been in Watsonville since 1990.

The Espinoza family, who also own El Palomar in Santa Cruz, have taken their experience and flare for celebrating food and created a restaurant that offers something for everyone.

The menus are large and varied for brunch, lunch and dinner. For lunch, check out the Seafood Wrap, a chipotle tortilla filled with seafood and rock shrimp, whole beans, cabbage and peppers. You can also make your own tacos from a tempting selection of ingredients.

Start off dinner with fresh oysters on the half shell, or sashimi, and try the Cilantros Special Dinner, which combines charbroiled snapper, carne asada, sautéed prawns and ceviche. There's also a selection of vegetarian dishes. Take advantage of happy hour, with dancing and music on Friday and Saturday nights.
