Everyone has a favorite comfort food, and for many people in the Pajaro Valley—no matter what your ethnicity—that food is the tamale.

This is the main feature of the , where you can get many different varieties, including pork, chicken in green sauce, jalapeño and cheese, and even elote (fresh corn) and dulce (sweet) tamales. In addition, there’s a mouthwatering selection of tacos, meat and vegetarian burritos, quesadillas, chiles rellenos and two other popular comfort foods: menudo and atole (a Mexican hot drink, often chocolate with cinnamon, thickened with Maizena—a type of corn starch).
