City of Watsonville Names Matt Huffaker As City Manager

He holds a Master's in Public Administration and is a graduate of UC Berkeley's Executive Leadership Program.

From City of Watsonville: Matt Huffaker was unanimously appointed as the permanent City Manager for the City of Watsonville by the Watsonville City Council on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

“Matt is a seasoned and community-oriented leader, who has proven his commitment to Watsonville over the past two years in his role as the Assistant City Manager. His experience building relationships and working with a variety of stakeholders to move the community forward will serve Watsonville well,” said Mayor Lowell Hurst.

Huffaker joined the City of Watsonville in 2016, as the Assistant City Manager, overseeing internal operations, Economic Development, Finance and Budget, as well as Parks and Recreation Services. Previously, Huffaker worked for the City of Walnut Creek in the East Bay for over a decade in a variety of roles. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration and is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Executive Leadership Program. He is active in the League of California Cities and a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
