City Worker Accused Of Sex Assault Found Teen On Social Media
Police said they can work with parents to teach them about social media and parental controls, KSBW reported.
WATSONVILLE, CA β The Watsonville Police Department has announced that it's launching a new program to teach parents how to use social media and monitor their child's use, KSBW reported. The news came after the arrest last week of Matthew Antonio Jimenez, 23, a parks employee who worked with kids and is charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy he communicated with on social media, police said.
Police held a meeting Thursday to address social media safety. The department said it obtained 20 iPads from the federal Internet Crimes Against Children task force for the purpose of teaching parents about social media, KSBW reported.
The incident occurred more than a year ago, police said. No additional victims have come forward and Jimenez remains in jail, KSBW reported.
