Climate Change And Crops: Tell This Group How Farming Is Changing

Regeneracíon-Pajaro Valley Climate Action is asking farmers to share whether climate change has impacted crops, The Pajaronian reported.

WATSONVILLE, CA — An anonymous, bilingual online survey seeks to determine how climate change is affecting farmers' work, The Pajaronian reported. The survey is conducted by Regeneracíon-Pajaro Valley Climate Action, a local nonprofit that focuses on climate change as a social justice issue.

Researchers hope to establish a baseline to determine the extent of the damage the climate change may wreak in the years to come, the paper reported. The survey asks questions about where the farm is located, whether weather patterns have affected crops or caused losses, whether insurance rates have changed recently and more.

“We think it’s important to work with everyone in agriculture—the backbone of this community—on solutions that will help everyone," the organization's executive director, Nancy Faulstich, told the paper.
