Credit Card Skimmers Found At East Lake Gas In Watsonville

WATSONVILLE, CA — Five credit card skimmers were found at East Lake Gas on Tuesday, Watsonville police reported.

Skimmers are secretly installed by thieves to steal unsuspecting customers' credit card data. A few people have reported seeing strange activity on their bank accounts after using their credit/debit card at East Lake Gas station, according to Watsonville police.

Watsonville officers spent hours inspecting gas pumps around town but no other skimmers were found, according to the department.

Watsonville police are advising people to check their bank accounts frequently.
