Additional officers will be patrolling the city from Dec. 13 until the New Year, the department announced.

WATSONVILLE, CA β The Watsonville Police Department is ramping up its efforts to find intoxicated drivers from Dec. 13 until the New Year, with extra patrolling officers, and a checkpoint to identify people driving under the influence and without a driver's license.
The checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Extra officers will be roving during the duration of the DUI enforcement period.
The department reminds drivers that DUI can involve alcohol or drugs, and encourages anyone attending holiday parties with alcohol to use a designated driver.
