Get out in Watsonville: Dogs, Roses and an Architectural Tour

A Chamber of Commerce mixer, an open dance, a visit to a rose garden, an architectural tour and a chance to get your dog some free shots to keep it healthy are our suggestions to Get Out in Watsonville this weekend.

Where/When: 44 Brennan St., Thursday, 5-7 p.m.Β 

Why Go: This month's spring mixer is under the tents. The theme: "I heard it Through the Grapevine." Hosts are Renee Mello & Associates, Keller WillaimsΒ Realty; Chuck & Ramona Allen, KW Commercial At Brennan SquareΒ and the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture. Food, drink raffle prizes and a chance to network.

Why Go: Come out for a couple of hours of unstructured dance. Which means you get to just dance, dance, dance.

Where/When: 449 Union St. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Β 

Why go: Get an inside look at nine architects' unique designs ranging from modest to remodels to large new homes.Β  Join us from 4-6 pm at the after tour gathering at La Posta!

Pricing: $32 which admits two people to all sites

Where/When: 803 Browns Valley Rd, Corralitos, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go:Β  The roses are in bloom and it is a beautiful site. Visit this historic rose garden, open since the 1930s.Β  Come now. May and June are the best months to see the roses in full bloom.

Why Go: Keep your dog healthy at little cost to you. This event is offered by the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter for all Santa Cruz County dogs. Dogs will receive FREE rabies shots, FREE distemper/parvovirus shots, $10 microchips (includes registration) and information on low-cost ($20) spay or neuter options.Β  And you will get to learn more about keeping your dog healthy.Dogs must be at least four months old.Β
