Get Out: The Dryheavers at the Head of the List This Weekend
The Dryheavers farewell show, a night of dancing, a look at the roses, a car show and a roller derby—those are our suggestions to Get Out in and around Watsonville this weekend.

Where/When: , 30 Maple Ave., Saturday, 7-11 p.m.
Why Go: Los Dryheavers are a local Watsonville legend, and this is their farewell concert. So say goodbye and watch the last show. Los Dryheavers is a popular local punk band that has been playing more than 12 years. Also playing are Pop Bottle Bombers, P+, Los Fracasos (also their last show) from Watsonville, and Sea Wolves from Salinas. Taqueria La Fuente will sell tacos and other snacks.

Why Go: Be a Dear and Donate a Brassiere, a community organization, and the Silicon Valley Roller Girls are teaming up for a roller derby bout to support women in transition by providing necessary undergarments. Sometimes we forget the importance of what is underneath. So attend a double-header roller derby featuring the KillaBytes and the Dot.Kamikazes.

Why Go: Don't miss this annual Capitola car show, featuring more than 300 hot rods, including muscle cars, coupes, Roadsters, customs and classics. These cars are vintage to 1972. Who doesn't enjoy looking at the cars that used to be? Great fun for the family and you are near the beach, too!

Why Go: Go out for a couple of hours of unstructured dance. Which means you get to just dance, dance, dance.

Where/When: 803 Browns Valley Rd., Corralitos, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: The roses are in bloom, and it is a beautiful site. Visit this historic rose garden, open since the 1930s. June is one of the best months to see the roses in full bloom. But you better hurry. Pretty soon, the bloom will be gone.
