Our suggestions for some fun things for you and your children to do in and around Watsonville the rest of the week and this weekend

The kids are back in school, but still you want to come up with things you can do together. Let Patch help you out.

We've done the research, we've done your homework and we're ready to give you our suggestions for ways you can get up and go with your family this week and heading into the weekend.

Where/When: , 30 Maple Ave., Watsonville; Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.Β 

Why Go: OK, this is not something for you to do, but it is something terrific for your teen! Teens can learn camera basics, enough to shoot their own videos to air on Community Television. Now wouldn't that make you proud! Cameras provided. All between the ages of 12 to 22 are welcome.

Where/When: 225 Sudden St., at the Callaghan Park Cultural Center, Friday, 9:30-11:15 a.m.

Why Go: This is a weekly Friday event, and it is a great way to interest your young child to music. Music Together is an internationally recognized early-childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and the adults who love them.

Pricing: Ongoing course. Check for drop-in fees.


Where/When: , 1305 E. Cliff Dr., Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Get to wander around the museum for free! There's no admission charge the first Thursday of the month, so take advantage of that. Take your stay-at-home kids and pick up the older ones and head over there after school.Β  Enjoy!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Civic Auditorium, 307 Church St., Santa Cruz, Sunday, 2 p.m.Β 

Why Go: To hear our very own county symphony orchestra with our children and to enjoy this kid-friendly foray into the music of the symphony and the "Rhythms of Life."

Pricing: $10; for students and seniors, $8

Where/When: Westgate Mall, 1600 Saratoga Ave., San Jose, Saturday, 10 am. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: What's a child to do this summer? Go to summer camp, of course. At least part of the time. This Sunday is your chance and your child's chance to learn about more than 80 different summer camp offerings, at one time and under one roof!
