Latest Watsonville Coronavirus Updates
Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Watsonville.
WATSONVILLE, CA β This week officials have called on Santa Cruz County to follow new restrictions amid the new coronavirus pandemic.
An order requiring face coverings was unveiled Thursday and is in effect as of Saturday. It applies to most public situations, such as entering businesses, working in businesses, taking public transportation and receiving health care services. Face coverings are encouraged for exercise, but are not mandatory.
County, state and city park officials have also asked residents to postpone trips to get exercise in remote locations and opt for workouts in nearby areas such as their neighborhoods and local parks. Some public sites have seen so many visitors that it's impossible for guests to maintain social distancing, officials said.
