WATSONVILLE, CA β€” Santa Cruz County is hopeful that residents will soon be able to eat at dine-in restaurants, get their hair cut and return to work in offices.

The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors is set to review the county's application to proceed with reopening certain sectors of the economy during an emergency meeting Friday. If it looks good to the state, California could accept the application on the same day it's submitted or it could take a few days to review the application, said County Health Officer Gail Newel.
