Live Music at the Farmers Market
Marimba ensemble, Kuzanga, to play this Friday in Watsonville.

Market shoppers are in for a treat Friday when Santa Cruz musicians, Kuzanga Marimba, bring the sounds of Zimbabwe to the .
Kuzanga Marimba is the name of frequent street performers in downtown Santa Cruz. The sweet, rhythmic melodies of Zimbabwe dance music can often be heard along Pacific Avenue, drawing appreciative crowds of shoppers and passers by. Friday, it will be Watsonville’s turn to dance to Kuzanga’s rhythmic beats.
“This Friday will be our first time playing at the Watsonville Farmers' Market. We're looking forward to it,” said band member, Larry Israel.

Kuzanga Marimba has performed traditional and contemporary dance music from Zimbabwe since 1994. The ensemble consists of seven marimba players with tonal ranges from soprano to bass. Friday’s performance will also include a special guest musician.
While enjoying the live music, take some time to browse the market booths for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. This week will feature greens and root vegetables, mushrooms, onions, potatoes, fresh herbs, strawberries and some citrus. Look forward to seeing some other berry varieties in the coming weeks.

The Watsonville Certified Farmers' Market is 3-7 p.m. every Friday on the corner of Peck and Main streets. The market is open, rain or shine.
