RIVER OAKS, CA — A head-on collision claimed the life of a man Monday evening in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, a California Highway Patrol officer said. The collision between a Honda Civic and Toyota Tacoma was reported at 6:02 p.m. on state Highway 129 about one mile west of Rogge Lane, CHP Officer Kaleo Clissold said. Another person was flown to a hospital with mild injuries, Clissold said. CHP officials do not think impairment played a role in the collision.
