• September 2026 California Department of Fish and Wildlife Calendar (ca.gov) — Local nature lovers can join regular guided hikes, bird walks, and a mindfulness hike this September at Elkhorn Slough Reserve on Elkhorn Road in Watsonville. The statewide CDFW calendar also highlights hunting seasons, habitat restoration days, biodiversity celebrations, and family-friendly fish hatchery tours across California. Many activities are free, with some requiring advance registration or licenses for hunters and anglers.
• Pajaro Valley runs past Gunn as Ray Myers wins picks up win in head coaching debut (santacruzsentinel.com) — High school football fans in Watsonville saw Pajaro Valley rush for 300 yards in a 24-7 home win over Gunn, giving new head coach Ray Myers a victorious debut.
