Police Seek Burglar Caught On Video Surveillance In Watsonville
A judge has issued a felony arrest warrant for Antonio Acevedo, 39.
WATSONVILLE, CA β Police in Watsonville are asking for the public's help in tracking down a 39-year-old man who broke into a home and stole thousands of dollars worth of items. A judge has issued a felony arrest warrant for Antonio Acevedo, who was caught on camera burglarizing a home on Holly Drive earlier this month, according to the Watsonville Police Department.
Surveillance footage shows Acevedo putting on gloves as he made his way into the home; during the break-in, he stole a TV, computer, iPads, car keys and several other items, according to police. The following day, the victimβs car was stolen from the home, but officers were able to recover the unoccupied vehicle within three days, according to police.
"Acevedo is a transient in Watsonville and our detectives have been looking for him for weeks," police said in a statement. "A sheriffβs deputy spotted him in the area of Airport Blvd. and Pajaro Lane last Thursday, but the suspect managed to get away. Acevedo has been convicted of felony burglary in the past. Heβs also well aware that weβre looking for him."
