Sexual Assaults From 30 Years Ago Lead To Watsonville Arrest

WATSONVILLE, CA — A 60-year-old man arrested this week by Watsonville police is being held on $500,ooo bail after being accused of sexually assaulting at least three victims more than 30 years ago.
Juan Corona was in court Thursday after Watsonville police arrested him in the 1100 block of S. Green Valley Road Monday night. Officers were initially called to the area on reports of a family disturbance. While at the scene, two people told police that Corona had sexually assaulted them while they were teenagers and he was an adult, according to the WPD.
Watsonville police detectives were called in to interview the victims and a witness, and the arrest was made, police said. Corona is being held at Santa Cruz County Jail.

Corona was not a stranger to the victims, according to police. The victims' identities and Corona's relationship to them were not made available by police.
