Each year, the City of West Hollywood recognizes LGBTQ Pride in June. The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped Pride celebrations in 2020 and in 2021. Due to the coronavirus crisis, there will be no festival or parade, but there will be lots of community-based Pride programming in local businesses and organizations, as well as virtual programming.

As the State of California and Los Angeles County aim to ease restrictions related to COVID-19, the City of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce have partnered to announce ‘Pride Lives Here’ during June Pride month. Pride celebrations and activities in West Hollywood will take shape throughout the month of June in an acknowledgement that Pride is rooted in West Hollywood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It’s always Pride in West Hollywood and Pride isn’t limited to one venue or one spot.

Pride Lives Here merchandise is being sold on the website with net proceeds from sales benefitting two nonprofit organizations: ProjectQ, which aims to help LGBTQIA+ youth navigate a world that perpetually tries to diminish them; and Unique Woman’s Coalition, which is committed to fostering the next generation of Black Trans leadership and is dedicated to being a collective voice centering the narratives and needs of Black Trans culture.
