The City of West Hollywood is making every effort to respond to community needs during the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency and keeping the health and safety of people in West Hollywood as its first priority.

On Monday, September 14, 2020, the City will reopen the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market (Farmers’ Market) at Plummer Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with new coronavirus safety measures in effect. The Farmers’ Market features organic and farm fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, fresh fish, and more. The City will implement a priority “Senior Hour” from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., which will allow customers ages 55+ to have priority access to the market. Seniors may approach the front of the line near the entrance during this time.

The market is located at the north parking lot of Plummer Park at 1200 N. Vista Street. While attending the Farmers’ Market, all customers, vendors, and staff are required to wear protective face coverings in accordance with City of West Hollywood requirements. One-hour parking is available adjacent to the market in the north parking lot for customers only. Three-hour parking is also available in the south lot of Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard.

In order to maintain safety protocols at the Farmers’ Market, there will be one entrance on N. Vista Street. Due to the limited number of customers allowed inside the market at once, the queue to enter will maintain social distancing of at least six feet and wrap north to the corner of N. Vista Street and Fountain Avenue.

The following safety guidelines will be enforced:

• Practice safe physical distancing of at least six feet;
• Face coverings must be worn covering your nose and mouth at all times; There will be no entrance/no service without a facial covering;

1. Practice appropriate cough and hand hygiene (cough into your elbow; wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently);
2. The market will have a maximum capacity of 25 customers at a time via controlled entry and exit points; and
3. Please do not touch the products; allow only vendors to handle the produce/products before buying;

The City of West Hollywood encourages customers to limit interactions with other customers and vendors and to move through the Farmers’ Market as quickly as possible in order to allow for others waiting for entrance to have an opportunity to shop. Please stay home if you are sick or you are in a high-risk group. Safety guidelines will be strictly enforced to ensure the Farmers’ Market remains in compliance with City, County, and State guidelines.

The Farmers’ Market will remain open, subject to customer and vendor compliance with food handling, face covering, and social distancing requirements.

The City of West Hollywood has had a mandatory face covering requirement in effect since Saturday, May 23, 2020. The City of West Hollywood requires face coverings at all times while in public and social distancing rules of at least six feet should continue to be followed, even when outdoors. The State of California and County of Los Angeles have also directed the use of face coverings in public.

The City of West Hollywood has declared a local emergency in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. When in public, community members should maintain your space with social (physical) distancing of at least six feet, and cover your face to adhere to City, County, and State requirements for the use of face coverings. Face coverings are not required for young children under two-years-old; children between two- and eight-years-old should only wear face coverings with adult supervision; and people with certain medical conditions are exempt from this requirement. Public Health officials recommend that everyone must continue to follow physical distancing and infection control directives and wear a clean cloth face covering that securely covers both your nose and mouth when in contact with other people not in your household.

The City encourages residents to remain home as much as is practical and limit close contact with others outside of a household. Additionally, people 65 years old or older and all people of any age with underlying health conditions should remain at home whenever possible; people in these categories should only leave their residences to seek medical care, exercise, or obtain food or other necessities.

West Hollywood City Hall is currently closed to the public and has suspended all in-person transactions. Most public City buildings, playgrounds, and facilities remain closed.
