The City of West Hollywood Hosts Human Rights Speakers Series

The City of West Hollywood's Human Rights Speakers Series will host a free panel discussion and screening of the feature film NONA.

The City of West Hollywood’s Human Rights Speakers Series will host a free panel discussion and screening of the feature film NONA. The film tells the story of a girl from Honduras who meets a charming boy, Hecho, who promises to get her safely to America to reunite with her mother. Instead, Nona faces a perilous journey when he doesn’t deliver on that promise.

The event will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the City of West Hollywood’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. A reception will take place at 6:30 p.m. and opening remarks will take place at 7 p.m. followed by the film screening and panel discussion. The panel discussion will feature Actress, Producer, and Human Rights/Human Trafficking Advocate Kate Bosworth; Director, Producer, and Human Rights/Human Trafficking Advocate Michael Polish; and Human Trafficking Survivor Leaders Ima Matul and Dawn Schiller. The discussion will be moderated by Amanda Caroline Bleich.

The event is free, but seating is limited. RSVP is requested at http://bit.ly/HRSS-2020Jan29. Validated parking will be available at the adjacent five-story West Hollywood Park structure, limited to availability.
