City leaders and neighbors turned out for a ribbon-cutting, and the cafe is serving its full menu while repairs continue at its original Sunset Strip location, where the owners hope to return next year.
   

2. It Was 102 Degrees in WeHo. How Hot Can Your Apartment Legally Get? (wehoonline.com) — West Hollywood renters sweltering through this weekend's triple-digit heat should know the City Council will discuss whether to set a legal maximum indoor temperature for rental units, similar to Los Angeles County's 82-degree standard. About one in four local homes are estimated to lack air conditioning, but any new rule likely wouldn't be drafted until the 2028 work plan, meaning relief is still years away.

On the Agenda: Shoreham Showdown, a $3.7M Sunset Strip Bash and WeHo's Next Mayor (wehoonline.com) — West Hollywood residents have a packed City Council meeting Monday night, with decisions looming on the 8760 Shoreham Drive apartment project, a $3.69 million Live on Sunset music event that would close part of Sunset Boulevard, and the timeline for choosing the city's next mayor. Council will also weigh a Poet Laureate appointment, homelessness coordination funding, and whether to explore a maximum indoor temperature rule for rentals.
   

4. Ferrari Driver Shot And Hospitalized In West Hollywood (canyon-news.com) — A man was shot inside a black Ferrari near Holloway Drive and Hancock Avenue in West Hollywood and taken to the hospital, while the gunman remains at large. Deputies say this attack near the Sunset Strip adds to a troubling pattern of unsolved shootings in nearby West Hollywood neighborhoods this year. Anyone with information is urged to contact the local sheriff's station.
