Adult Education: Of Course I Can Do Stand-Up Comedy, I’m a Jew

Now is your chance for a fun class to learn how to do Stand-up Comedy - laughter is welcome!

Kvetching, kvelling and comedy, the three birthrights of all Jews. The first two are easy to master, the third, not so much. Until now. If you ever wanted to see if you had what it takes to do stand-up, this is your chance. During three classes, beginning on February 5, you’ll learn about finding your voice, crafting your material and putting together a short routine, followed by a Comedy Showcase night where you can invite your family and friends and show them what you’ve learned. Taught by Comedy Writer & Stand-Up Glenn Rabney.

Writer/producer Glenn Rabney has been plying his craft for over 30 years. Starting out as a a stand-up comic he segued into an award winning writer for shows such as HBO’s “Not Necessarily the News” and the Disney Channel’s “New Mickey Mouse Club”. Currently he is writing or producing a bio-pic, a historical drama, a TV movie and a graphic novel, and in a tip of the cap to mid-life crisis, has inexplicably returned to the stand-up stage.

Classes are held from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Course fees: advance RSVP is $36, on the day of the first class is $72. Please RSVP to Debbie at 818-348-0670 x200 or dshayer@koltikvah.org Upcoming Dates: March 5 & 19, 2018. Comedy Showcase Night: Monday, April 16.
