Child, 10, Airlifted After Being HIt by Car in Encino

A 10-year-old was seriously injured when struck by a car on Sapphire Drive.

A 10-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in Encino tonight and seriously injured.

The child was struck about 7:10 p.m. in the 4000 block of Sapphire Drive, said Officer Jack Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

An air ambulance was dispatched to Lanai Road Elementary School to take the youth to a trauma center, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
