Multiple Inmates Stabbed in County Jail Riot
Multiple inmates were stabbed at the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles where about 80 inmates rioted.

Updated: A fight involving about 80 inmates broke out today inside the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles, prompting a lockdown of the facility and resulting in four people being taken to hospitals with non- life-threatening injuries.
The disturbance occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the jail, 441 E. Bauchet St., according to Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. It was not immediately known what precipitated the fight.
The jail was placed on lockdown, along with the adjacent Twin Towers jail.

Rouzan said there were 80 people in the dormitory where the fight broke out. He said it will take further investigation to determine exactly how many took an active role in the melee.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics set up a triage area in the rear of the jail, with initial reports suggesting as many as six people had been critically injured, and as many as 12 patients might need treatment. Fire officials later said 10 patients were being evaluated, but ultimately only four needed to be transported.

Reports from the scene indicated that one inmate suffered a stab wound, and three others suffered less severe injuries.
None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, fire officials said.
