To kick off its commitment to the local non-profit community, Total Wine & More partnered with arts organization Valley Cultural Center, which provides a diverse array of programs and events to the local community. Total Wine & More donated ten percent of all wine sales during opening weekend to the Valley Cultural Center.
Additionally, Total Wine & More partnered with Young Warriors, a mentoring program for boys between the ages of eight and eighteen living in poverty. Total Wine & More made a substantial donation to Young Warriors, and Young Warriors’ Board Member and NFL Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson made a special appearance to sign autographs at the Woodland Hills grand opening.

“Our partnerships with Valley Cultural Center and Young Warriors are the first of many donations that the Woodland Hills Total Wine & More store will make in the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles,” explains Edward Cooper, Total Wine’s Vice President for Public Affairs and Community Relations. “Last year, Total Wine & More worked with over 8,000 non-profit charitable organizations in 18 states, providing nearly $7 million in cash and in-kind donations that, in turn, helped our partners raise in excess of $35 million for their great causes and efforts. Our California stores played a large part in those philanthropic efforts, and our Woodlands Hills store and store team members will continue to demonstrate our commitment to the local community.”
The new Woodland Hills Total Wine & More store, which boasts 25,000 square feet of retail space, offers an unmatched selection of more than 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers, including hard-to-find labels and locally produced product.
Characterized by a bright, open design, the new store features Total Wine’s signature blend of cutting-edge technology and customer convenience.
“Our stores deliver the ‘wow factor’ that today’s customers deserve,” says Cooper. “From exploring aisles filled with unique wines or a local brew, to using our state-of-the-art app that seamlessly pairs your favorite foods with wines at a variety of price points and delivers the suggested wines and recipes directly to your mobile phone or home computer, to enjoying dozens of wine, beer and spirits classes taught by our experts in our state-of-the-art classroom, we are consistently focused on giving our customers the ultimate customer service experience.”
The customer service experience is enhanced by Total Wine & More’s excellent store team. Before they have assisted their first customer, Total Wine store team members participate in more than 100 hours of specialized instruction and training on various wine regions, production methods, varietals, brew styles, and tasting profiles.
“Exceptional customer service makes all the difference in retail, and it’s an area that sets us apart,” says Cooper. “In addition to their initial training, our team members participate in ongoing training conducted weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. To ensure that our customers are served by the best trained staff in the country, we take 70+ team members each year on an educational trip to Napa and Sonoma Valley wineries, and, every other year, take 50+ team members to Europe to experience and learn about great wines in France, Spain and Italy. Investing in a highly educated and helpful staff is a big part of our commitment to serving our customers.”
