• From Concert Stage to Cultural Institution: Dr. Xiaohui Yan Builds a Broader Chamber-Music Community (broadwayworld.com) — Yorba Linda recently hosted the Los Angeles-area premiere of the powerful chamber work "Born Free" at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, bringing an acclaimed New York program directly to local audiences. The Almost Quintet, now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is using performances like this to champion Black and Chinese composers and build long-term, community-focused chamber music projects that could return to Yorba Linda in future seasons.
   

• Huntington Beach football beats Yorba Linda, flying high with 5-0 start (latimes.com subscription) — Yorba Linda High's Mustangs fell just short in a thrilling nonleague game, losing 29-25 to undefeated Huntington Beach after a late fourth-and-19 conversion and touchdown. Junior running back Isaiah Trujillo still shined for Yorba Linda with four rushing touchdowns and 147 yards, underscoring the program's continued strength against top Southern California competition.
