Colorado Counties Among Worst In Country For Robocall Complaints

Some Colorado counties have the highest number of robocall complaints in the U.S., according to a Comparitech report.

Five Colorado counties rank among the worst in the country for robocall complaints, according to a recent report. Colorado residents reported the second-most robocall complaints per capita in the United States, the data show.

Reports of imposters and medicine or prescription complaints were most prevalent, according to the report.

El Paso has the most complaints per capita in the country; while La Plata, San Juan, Jefferson and Pitkin rank 5th, 9th, 11th and 15th respectively, the data show.

Comparitech analyzed FTC data to reveal robocall trends across the United States, looking at what the growing gap between live callers and robocalls looks like, which states and counties are most affected and which calls are the most common.

Robocall complaints grew by 165 percent between 2014 and 2017, reaching a peak of 4.5 million annually, according to Comparitech. Robocall complaints more than doubled the number of live call complaints in 2018.

Robocalls peaked between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and were more prevalent during the summer, peaking in July and August, the report shows.
