2nd Death In Colorado From Coronavirus

Colorado's second death from the new coronavirus was reported in Weld County, health officials said.

Colorado's second death from the new coronavirus was reported Monday in Weld County, health officials confirmed. The patient who died was a man in his 70s, according to the Weld County Department of Public health.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is continuing to monitor the spread of the virus and provide updates.

The Weld County case is connected to another positive case, and an investigation was underway.

As of Monday afternoon, there were 160 cases of the new coronavirus in Colorado, public health officials confirmed. More than 1,200 people had been tested.

Vail Resorts is closing all of its North American ski areas, lodging properties and stores for the 2019-20 season, the company announced Tuesday. Some resorts — including Breckenridge, Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia — could reopen in late April or early May, depending on the COVID-19 situation and the weather.

Restaurants and bars in Colorado have been ordered closed to dine-in patrons for 30 days, Gov. Jared Polis announced in a news conference Monday afternoon. The order was announced after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued guidance Sunday that recommended gatherings of more than 50 people should be limited over the next eight weeks.
