Wheat Ridge Student After Social Media Threat

The student was arrested early Monday morning. There's no evidence he had taken steps to act on the threat.

A student from Wheat Ridge High School is under arrest charged with making a threat against his school via social media over the weekend. It's not believed the student had taken any concrete steps to act on his threat/

The threat - which was made on Sunday - led police to his home early Monday where he was arrested.

School officials consulted with police, determined there was no active threat and had classes start on time.

Just to be extra cautious, there were additional Wheat Ridge Police School Resource Officers and Jefferson County School security officers at the school.

The student - whose name has not been released - is charged with interference with staff, faculty or students at an educational facility.
