The suspect, a man who was not identified by police, was taken into custody near Castle Rock around 6 p.m. Thursday. Police continue to investigate the shooting, which occurred about 3 p.m. Police say they have not determined the motive for the attack.

"We believe we have the person responsible for this incident in custody and there is not a danger to the public," Westminster police said in a statement. "Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation and the need to complete photo lines ups with several witnesses, we are not releasing the identity of the adult male at this time."
