'Road Rage' Incident Led To Quadruple Colo. Shooting: Cops

With a Glock 19, Jeremy Webster, 23, allegedly shot a woman, her two sons, 13 and 8, and a male bystander in Westminster. The teen died.

WESTMINSTER, CO – A "road rage" incident triggered a deadly shooting in the parking lot outside a dentist office on Thursday, police said. Authorities have identified the accused shooter as a Jeremy Webster, 23, of Colorado Springs.

The attack left a boy dead, and his mother and brother in serious condition at a nearby hospital. A man, who reportedly made eye contact with Webster as he sat in his car was also wounded in the attack. Denver7 reported the boy who died was 13 and the child who was seriously wounded is 8 years old.

An arrest affidavit said Webster confessed to the shooting, KOAA news reported. He told police he had mental health issues and that he had recently changed his medication, the station said.

Webster allegedly shot a mother, 41, and two of her three children after "a road rage incident" that had started a mile away, the affidavit said. Webster allegedly followed the family's car to the parking lot of the dentist's office, where they had an appointment.

Denver7 reported that according to a search warrant, Webster allegedly waived his Miranda rights when speaking to police. Webster told police he used a Glock 19 handgun to shoot four people, the station reported. One boy old police Webster and his mother “had some sort of altercation near the intersection of Sheridan Blvd. and Turnpike Drive.”

Witnesses said Webster argued with the mother and then pulled out a handgun and shot her "multiple times," Denver7 reported. After she fell to the ground, Webster reportedly turned to two of the juvenile boys and "shot them both multiple times," walked away towards his car, then turned and shot one boy again "as he lay on the ground."

A third child escaped into the dental office where the child told police the mother had taken a photo of Webster's license plate with her phone before they exited the car. Investigators recovered the photo after the shooting, and police identified Webster's black Toyota as a "vehicle of interest," the affidavit said.

The second adult shot, a man, 40, was sitting in his parked pickup truck with his daughter when he appeared to make eye contact with Webster, witnesses told police. Webster allegedly shot the man, who was injured in the arms and drove away. He was treated and is expected to recover. His daughter was unharmed, the affidavit said.

The victims' family issued a statement saying they did not want to speak to the media. "Please respect our family’s privacy in these troubling times,” the family said via the Westminster police.

Webster is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, assault and criminal attempt to commit a felony, police said in a statement. He is being held in the Adams County jail on no bail.
