'Don't Be A Puffer': City Of Arvada Issues Warning

Ahead of 'Puffer Week' at the end of January, Arvada officials have issued a warning.

ARVADA, CO — Every year, Arvada police have to deal with 'puffers' — vehicles that have been left running unattended, officials said. City officials have issued another warning ahead of 'Puffer Week,' a statewide campaign, held in the last week of January, that aims to educate Coloradans about the dangers of the bad habit.

"When it gets cold, it may be tempting to warm up your car while you are not in it, but it is against the law to do so in Arvada," the warning read.

"The only exception is having a remote start system on the car. The key may not remain in the vehicle."
