Driver Involved In Arvada Hit-And-Run Turns Herself In

A bicyclist in Arvada was struck and killed, police said.

ARVADA, CO — A driver who struck and killed a bicyclist Sunday in Arvada has turned herself in to police, Colorado State Patrol said. The 43-year-old woman took off in her vehicle after she hit a 77-year-old cyclist, state troopers said. She surrendered hours later.

The cyclist was struck at about 8:30 p.m. on Indiana Street between W 80th Avenue and W 77th Drive, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the crash, the woman turned her Toyota Highlander around and headed south on Indiana, authorities said.

CSP issued a Medina Alert with a description of her vehicle at about 10:40 p.m. State troopers said the Toyota should have damage to its front bumper and grill. The alert was canceled early Monday morning after the woman turned herself in to the Arvada Police Department.
