Escaped 'Dangerous' Inmate Nabbed By Wheat Ridge Police
Michael Onorato slipped away from a minimum security prison in Canon City back in May.

WHEAT RIDGE, CO – Colorado prison inmate Michael Onorato, 37, was on the lam from a low-security Canon City prison for almost three weeks before he was taken into custody by Wheat Ridge police Sunday, the Colorado Department of Corrections said.
Onorato had slipped away from his work crew on the dairy detail at at the minimum-security Four Mile Correctional Center May 29. A 3 a.m. inmate count revealed he was gone.
Later, CDOC officials said they had found Onorato's prison garb "on a riverbank in Florence, Colorado."

Onorato was currently serving concurrent sentences for Larimer County six- and three-year convictions for motor vehicle theft and robbery respectively, and a 20-month Denver County conviction for drug abuse.
Onorato is currently being held in CDOC's Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center, according to an online inmate directory.
