Fundraiser Launched For Girl Struck By Vehicle On Arvada Sidewalk
A driver faces DUI charges after he struck a young girl while she was walking on a sidewalk in Arvada.

ARVADA, CO — A fundraiser has been launched for a 10-year-old girl who remains in a wheelchair after she was struck by a Jeep while she was walking on a sidewalk in Arvada. The driver of the vehicle faces DUI charges, authorities said.
Jasmine Nunez was walking with her little sister Nov. 8 near West 58th Avenue and Dover Street, when a driver reared off the road and struck her, according to the Arvada Police Department.
Jose Manuel Morales-Reyes, 50, faces felony charges of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident. Police believe he was drunk or high when he hit Nunez.

A GoFundMe page was launched to help with Jasmine's medical expenses. Jasmine's mother, Arielle Romero, said her daughter has been in a wheelchair for weeks while she recovers.

The girl suffered two femur fractures, a fractured wrist, lacerations to her left side and to her liver, and a concussion," Romero said.
"I am trying to raise money to be able to still provide for my family, as I will be out of work until she is able to go back to school."
Morales-Reyes is being held at the Jefferson County Jail. His next scheduled court appearance is Dec. 10.
