Arvada Police reported an officer-involved shooting of a knife-wielding man who allegedly threatened cops.

ARVADA, CO -- Arvada Police said officers shot and killed a man Wednesday evening after he allegedly threatened cops with a knife, the police department said.

Officers were summoned by a report of a "suspicious person" around 8:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of 84th Way, police said. The suspect was found to be wanted on a felony warrant for an alleged restraining order violation. A K9 police dog located the man in what police described as "an enclosed area."

An officer reported he could see that the man had a knife and gave commands to drop it. But instead, the suspect allegedly came at the officers and the dog with the knife. He was shot and killed by officers, the report said.
