New Arvada Police Chief To Be Announced

Arvada's new chief will be one of two current police administrators in the department, the city said.

ARVADA, CO – The national search for Arvada's new police chief is over, and ended with two finalists close to home, the city announced. The new police chief will be announced the week of July 2, the city said.

The two contenders for Arvada's top cop currently serve as the city's top police brass:

  • Ed Brady - current Interim Chief of Police
  • Link Strate - current Deputy Chief of Police

The public attended a reception for finalists Wednesday at City Hall. Two interview panels grilled the two candidates, one made up of "volunteers, representatives on boards and commissions, and graduates from the Citizens’ Police Academy," the city said in a press release.
