New Arvada Police Sub-Station To Begin Construction
City officials broke ground on the $4.3 million Whisper Creek Community Police Station in northwest Arvada which will open in April, 2019.

ARVADA, CO – City and Police officials broke ground and posed with shovels and hard hats Monday to start construction of the new Whisper Creek Community Police Station in the city's northwest, or "Delta" sector roughly bordered by West 96th to West 72nd avenues, and Kipling Avenue to the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon.
The $4,260,190 new building was approved by the city council June 4 to be designed by Barker, Rinker, Seacat Architects, and will have thematic similarities to the West Woods and Lake Arbor substations.
Currently, the city is divided into four community police zones, with three police stations serving all four. Lake Arbor serves Adams Sector; Police Headquarters at Arvada City Hall serves Baker Sector and West Woods serves both Charlie and Delta Sectors.

Under the "sector-based policing" model, Arvada police officers are assigned to, and responsible for, specific areas of the city. This allows officers and residents to communicate better and officers to get to know the people who live in their community.
The Delta Sector will move to the Whisper Creek community station at 14360 W. 89th Dr. when construction is finished in April of 2019. Golden Triangle Construction, Inc., will build the substation on a 1.84 acre site.
