📰 News we're reading

1. Jefferson County voters face tax hike barrage on November ballot (completecolorado.com) — Arvada voters will see a crowded November ballot with Issue 7A's new regional rail sales tax plus multiple Jeffco-wide and neighboring city tax hikes competing for the same household dollars. While the Colorado Connector train tax would apply in Arvada, the line would not actually serve the city, and separate fire, school, Lakewood, and Wheat Ridge measures could still affect where locals shop and how much they pay in sales and property taxes.

2. 2 kids missing, last seen in Arvada (denverpost.com) — Two juveniles are missing after at least one was last seen Friday morning near West 80th Avenue and Kipling in Arvada, and state investigators have issued a Missing Indigenous Person alert. Authorities describe the teens' appearances and clothing and urge anyone who spots them or has information to immediately call 911 or the Arvada Police Department.

3. Mel Brooks comedy, Neil Simon play, a local tale of dementia hit Boulder County (theater guide) (dailycamera.com) — Arvada theater fans can catch the thriller "Misery" at the Arvada Center on Wadsworth Boulevard through Oct. 11, alongside a wide slate of Front Range productions. The regional guide highlights comedies, dramas, and immersive shows in Boulder, Denver, Longmont, and Westminster, giving Arvada residents plenty of nearby stage options this month.

4. Goodnight, Oscar: Hello, David Nehls (denvergazette.com) — A longtime music director at the Arvada Center is taking on a demanding lead role in "Goodnight, Oscar," now running at Miners Alley in Golden. The story traces David Nehls' journey from his early Arvada Center days to this new challenge, highlighting his Colorado ties and why his piano skills make this production uniquely possible for Front Range audiences.
