Woman Accused Of Walmart Shooting ID'd: Broomfield Police
Alyssa Borquez, 21, is one of two people who were taken into custody after a shooting inside the Walmart at 120th and Vrain, police said.

BROOMFIELD, CO — Investigators have identified a woman who was arrested in connection with a shooting Wednesday inside the Walmart at West 120th Avenue and Vrain Street, according to the Broomfield Police Department. The woman is being held at the Broomfield Detention Center.
Alyssa Borquez, 21, faces several charges, including attempted first-degree murder, felony menacing, child abuse and reckless endangerment.
Officers were called to the Walmart around 1:30 p.m., and arrested Borquez in connection with a shooting that occurred inside the store, police said. A man was arrested several hours later in connection with the shooting.

The shooting occurred during a dispute between Borquez and the man, who has not been identified pending the investigation.
Stores in the area were on lockdown and people were asked to avoid the area while investigators interviewed dozens of witnesses and store employees.

"The child abuse charge is a result of one of the involved parties having a young child in the area at the time of the shooting," read a Facebook post by Broomfield police. "That child is not Alyssa's, but rather that of a family member."
"We understand this event has shaken our community. Please know we are working tirelessly to get answers and will provide updates as they become available."
Borquez is being held on $100,000 bond.
