Woman Dies After Beaten, Strangled By Ex-Husband: Westminster PD

WESTMINSTER, CO — A woman has died after she was beaten and strangled by her ex-husband, the Westminster Police Department said. He remains at large after authorities believe he cut off his ankle monitor.

James Arthur Naulls Jr., 30, is accused of attacking Yasmin Usama Dahabreh Friday, police said. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.

"Through our investigation, we have reason to believe some of Mr. Naulls’ friends or family are helping him hide and evade capture," read a public alert posted by the Westminster Police Department. "Mr. Naulls’ is wanted in connection with a murder investigation and deserves due process of the judicial system, but those found to help him avoid capture will also be investigated, and if appropriate, charges will be filed against them. Accessory to Crime is a class 5 Felony in Colorado."

Denver Metro Crime Stoppers raised the reward to $5000 for information that leads to Naulls' arrest.

"Mr. Naulls should be considered violent and dangerous; do not approach him or try to apprehend him," the alert read. "Call police immediately."

Naulls is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 190 pounds, police said. He has brown eyes, a shaved head and "very distinct" tattoos on his face and neck.
