(aspentimes.com) — Basalt residents are now under new drought-related water restrictions as Colorado scrambles to respond to a historically low snowpack and rapidly worsening statewide drought. Climatologists say a likely Super El Niño and stronger monsoon could bring a wetter summer, but warn it won’t fully repair depleted reservoirs or erase fire risk, so local conservation efforts will remain critical.
